{"id":1372,"date":"2023-12-25T16:15:22","date_gmt":"2023-12-25T16:15:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.ige.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=1372"},"modified":"2023-12-25T16:15:22","modified_gmt":"2023-12-25T16:15:22","slug":"a-professor-at-the-institute-of-genetic-engineering-participates-in-the-seventh-international-exhibition-for-patents-and-industrial-designs-in-sulaymaniyah","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/en.ige.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=1372","title":{"rendered":"A professor at the Institute of Genetic Engineering participates in the Seventh International Exhibition for Patents and Industrial Designs in Sulaymaniyah"},"content":{"rendered":"<div dir=\"auto\">The lecturer at the Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology for Postgraduate Studies\/University of Baghdad, Professor Dr. \u201cIssam Fadel Alwan,\u201d participated in the Seventh International Exhibition for Patents and Industrial Designs, which was held under the auspices of the Swedish Royal Crown University and in cooperation with the Iraqi Cultural Media Center and the Peace Movement in Sulaymaniyah.<br \/>\nDr. Essam\u2019s participation in the exhibition included his patent titled: \u201cA new diagnostic kit for detecting estrogen receptor antibodies.\u201d<br \/>\nThe patent aimed to detect a previously unknown disease, which is the disease of antibodies against estrogen receptors, through the ELISA test kit, which was designed specifically for this disease.<br \/>\nThe patent found that when designing an ELISA test kit to estimate the percentage of antibodies that attack estrogen receptors, their percentage is high in this category of patients, and these antibodies attack estrogen receptors and remain bound to them, and do not allow the hormone to act on these receptors, and thus patients suffer from symptoms of decreased estrogen. Despite its high rate, this discovery will help doctors find a treatment for these new cases and is a leap in the world of future diagnosis of such diseases.<br \/>\nSeventy participants from most governorates of Iraq, as well as participation from some Arab countries, participated in the exhibition. The exhibition was a major scientific demonstration and an opportunity to exchange scientific and artistic ideas and open horizons for cooperation between inventors and innovators as well as various scientific institutions to raise the level of scientific achievements in this field.
