{"id":1417,"date":"2024-01-24T06:24:08","date_gmt":"2024-01-24T06:24:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.ige.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=1417"},"modified":"2024-01-24T06:24:08","modified_gmt":"2024-01-24T06:24:08","slug":"the-institute-of-genetic-engineering-discusses-a-masters-thesis-on-studying-the-gene-expression-of-mirna-let7-and-mirna342-5p-in-iraqi-patients-with-breast-cancer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/en.ige.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=1417","title":{"rendered":"The Institute of Genetic Engineering discusses a master\u2019s thesis on studying the gene expression of miRNA let7 and miRNA342-5P in Iraqi patients with breast cancer."},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology for Postgraduate Studies\/University of Baghdad discussed the master\u2019s thesis by student \u201cSama Saeed Majeed\u201d entitled: \u201cStudy of gene expression of miRNA let7 and miRNA342-5P in Iraqi patients with breast cancer.\u201d<br \/>\nThe study aimed to examine the relationship between the expression of -7-miRlet and -miR34 5p and breast cancer (BC).<br \/>\nThe study included 100 samples of Iraqi women, including fifty Iraqi women with breast cancer, collected from Al-Andalus Specialized Hospital for Oncology in Baghdad, Al-Anbar Specialized Center for Cancer Treatment, and the cancer lounge at Fallujah Teaching Hospital in the period between November 2022 and March 2023. Their ages ranged between 26 and 68 years old, as well as fifty healthy female volunteers, between the ages of 18 and 67 years old, and all this information was collected using a specific questionnaire developed specifically for this study.<br \/>\nThe results of the study showed that the average age of the affected patients was 10.6 (49.1) years, ranging from 26 to 68 years. High significant changes (0.01) (P) were observed between the ductal and lobular cases: 41 (83.6) and 4 (8.2%) lobular cases.<br \/>\nThe study concluded that the resulting expression level of 7-MirRNAlet was significant (0.004) when compared to the control group (MirRNA34a-5) and also significant (p=0.003). It was found that estrogen receptors, progesterone receptors, and HER2 can increase the risk of breast cancer. In a big way.<br \/>\nThe study recommended that estrogen receptors were.
