{"id":1517,"date":"2024-03-12T08:39:58","date_gmt":"2024-03-12T08:39:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.ige.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=1517"},"modified":"2024-03-12T08:39:58","modified_gmt":"2024-03-12T08:39:58","slug":"genetic-engineering-holds-a-panel-discussion-on-methods-of-treating-salty-water-in-mesopotamia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/en.ige.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=1517","title":{"rendered":"Genetic Engineering holds a panel discussion on \u201cMethods of Treating Salty Water in Mesopotamia\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology for Postgraduate Studies\/University of Baghdad held a seminar on \u201cMethods of Treating Salinized Water in Mesopotamia,\u201d presented by the teaching staff, Dr. \u201cSafaa Abdul Rasoul,\u201d in the presence and participation of several professors and employees of the Institute.<br \/>\nThe seminar aimed to discuss ways to treat water salinity in Iraq using low-cost and environmentally friendly methods.<br \/>\nThe discussion session focused on using solar farms as an alternative to the reverse osmosis system, which is considered one of the systems that consume large amounts of electrical energy.<br \/>\nThe importance of using microbial desalination cells was also discussed during the event, which is considered an effective method for treating salinity and can be used to treat wastewater and produce clean energy.<br \/>\nThe seminar provided a detailed explanation about a master\u2019s study project currently being worked on at the Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology to work on using microbial cells in the laboratory to achieve practical normalization on the ground to study the efficiency of this system compared to other saltwater treatment systems.<br \/>\nThe panel discussion recommended the need for attention from the relevant authorities and beneficiaries to provide the necessary support for projects that are interested in finding alternative and sustainable means to find solutions to treat water salinity in Iraq.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_gallery interval=&#8221;3&#8243; images=&#8221;1519,1520,1521&#8243; img_size=&#8221;medium&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology for Postgraduate Studies\/University of Baghdad held a seminar on \u201cMethods of Treating Salinized &#8230; <\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":37,"featured_media":1518,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_lmt_disableupdate":"","_lmt_disable":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[14,25,17,7,19],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-1517","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-archives","category-sdg6","category-last-news","category-a-a","category-sustainability"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v25.8 -
