The seminar was led by Assistant Professor <em data-start=\"459\" data-end=\"484\">Dr. Ashwaq Basim Jassim<\/em>, with <em data-start=\"491\" data-end=\"512\">Ms. Rajaa Abdul Ali<\/em> serving as the coordinator, and featured a lecture delivered by endocrinology and oncology specialist <em data-start=\"615\" data-end=\"642\">Dr. Samar Muslim Al-Mahdi<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"645\" data-end=\"737\">The seminar was attended by a number of female faculty members and staff from the institute.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"739\" data-end=\"837\">This event was part of the activities organized by the Women\u2019s Affairs Committee at the institute.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"839\" data-end=\"1140\">The seminar aimed to raise awareness about cervical cancer and the importance of early screening for prevention. It focused on highlighting risk factors, methods of early detection, and prevention strategies, with the broader goal of promoting public health and reducing incidence and mortality rates.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1142\" data-end=\"1417\">The seminar recommended regular screening using the <strong data-start=\"1194\" data-end=\"1212\">Pap smear test<\/strong> for married women, HPV testing as advised by a physician, and early vaccination against the <strong data-start=\"1305\" data-end=\"1335\">Human Papillomavirus (HPV)<\/strong> for girls and boys to prevent infection by the virus that causes cervical cancer.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1419\" data-end=\"1669\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">It also emphasized the importance of spreading health awareness about the disease, its symptoms, transmission methods, and the value of early detection, in addition to reinforcing the role of <strong data-start=\"1611\" data-end=\"1633\">primary healthcare<\/strong> in education and routine screening.<\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;2385&#8243; img_size=&#8221;large&#8221; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221; onclick=&#8221;img_link_large&#8221; css=&#8221;&#8221;][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;2386&#8243; img_size=&#8221;large&#8221; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221; onclick=&#8221;img_link_large&#8221; css=&#8221;&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] Under the patronage of the Dean of the Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology for Postgraduate Studies \/ University &#8230; <\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":37,"featured_media":2387,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_lmt_disableupdate":"","_lmt_disable":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[14,17,7],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-2397","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-archives","category-last-news","category-a-a"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v25.8 -
