{"id":2464,"date":"2025-08-17T09:50:14","date_gmt":"2025-08-17T09:50:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.ige.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=2464"},"modified":"2025-08-17T09:50:14","modified_gmt":"2025-08-17T09:50:14","slug":"genetic-engineering-discusses-the-preparation-of-bacteriocin-from-lactic-acid-bacteria-and-the-analysis-of-its-antibacterial-activity-against-multidrug-resistant-bacteria-using-electron-microscopy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/en.ige.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=2464","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;Genetic Engineering discusses the preparation of bacteriocin from lactic acid bacteria and the analysis of its antibacterial activity against multidrug-resistant bacteria using electron microscopy.&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"80\" data-end=\"485\"><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">The Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology for Postgraduate Studies \/ University of Baghdad discussed the PhD dissertation of the student <em data-start=\"230\" data-end=\"252\">Sanaa Mohammed Habib<\/em> entitled:<\/span><br data-start=\"262\" data-end=\"265\" \/><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">\u201cPreparation of Bacteriocin from Lactic Acid Bacteria and Analysis of Its Antibacterial Activity Against Multidrug-Resistant Bacteria Using Electron Microscopy\u201d,<\/span><br data-start=\"430\" data-end=\"433\" \/><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">supervised by Prof. Dr. <em data-start=\"457\" data-end=\"482\">Amina Neama Al-Thuwaini<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"487\" data-end=\"701\"><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">The study aimed to synthesize a novel nanohybrid of bacteriocin by conjugating selenium nanoparticles with purified Enterolysin-A from <em data-start=\"622\" data-end=\"644\">Enterococcus faecium<\/em>, and to investigate some of its biomedical activities.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"703\" data-end=\"885\"><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">The results demonstrated that the newly synthesized nanohybrid exhibited high efficacy in all the tested bioassays compared to either Enterolysin-A or selenium nanoparticles alone.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"887\" data-end=\"1389\"><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">The study concluded that this newly developed nanohybrid could be considered a promising tool in biomedical applications as an alternative to current conventional therapies. It also recommended conducting further in vivo evaluations to translate its promising in vitro results, since in vivo studies are essential to assess the safety of this nanohybrid.
