This marked his 40th participation in conferences and exhibitions of patents.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"465\" data-end=\"748\"><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">Dr. Essam\u2019s respected participation included presenting and showcasing his patent entitled:<\/span><br data-start=\"556\" data-end=\"559\" \/><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">\u201cProduction of Antibodies (IgY) from Poultry Egg Yolk Using Purified Glucosyltransferase Enzyme from the Local Isolate Streptococcus mutans (Serotype C) Derived from Dental Calculus.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"750\" data-end=\"1179\"><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">The patent also involved producing antibodies in bird egg yolk as a cheap and readily available source, which could serve as an alternative to conventional methods of producing vaccines from the blood of mammals. This approach enhances the potential for protective immunity against <em data-start=\"1036\" data-end=\"1069\">Streptococcus mutans serotype C<\/em>, the bacterium responsible for dental caries, by stimulating antibody production using immunized bird eggs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"1181\" data-end=\"1260\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\"><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">The patent was awarded the Gold Medal as well as the Best Patent Award.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;2602&#8243; img_size=&#8221;large&#8221; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221; onclick=&#8221;img_link_large&#8221; css=&#8221;&#8221;][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;2601&#8243; img_size=&#8221;large&#8221; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221; onclick=&#8221;img_link_large&#8221; css=&#8221;&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;] Prof. Dr. Essam Fadel Alwan, faculty member at the Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology for Postgraduate Studies &#8230; <\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":37,"featured_media":2600,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_lmt_disableupdate":"","_lmt_disable":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[14,17,7],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-2597","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-archives","category-last-news","category-a-a"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v25.8 -
