The Women’s Affairs Unit<\/strong> at the Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology for Postgraduate Studies \/ University of Baghdad<\/strong>, in cooperation with the Al-Khwarizmi College of Engineering<\/strong>, organized a workshop entitled \u201cBalancing Professional and Family Life as an Approach to Achieving Gender Equality.\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The session was chaired by Asst. Prof. Dr. Ashwaq Basim Jasim<\/strong>, with Asst. Lecturer Rajaa Abdul Ali<\/strong> as the rapporteur. The workshop\u2019s lectures were delivered by Dr. Ibtisam Hadi Kazem<\/strong> and Asst. Lecturer Suad Mohammed Jasim<\/strong> from the Al-Khwarizmi College of Engineering.<\/span><\/p>\n

The workshop was attended by Prof. Dr. Salwa Jabir Al-Awadi<\/strong>, Dean of the Institute; Prof. Dr. Wathiq Abbas Al-Daraghi<\/strong>, Assistant Dean for Administrative and Scientific Affairs; the heads of the scientific departments \u2014 Prof. Dr. Rafid Abdul Wahid Al-Mousawi<\/strong>, Head of the Genetic Engineering Department, and Prof. Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim Nader<\/strong>, Head of the Biotechnology Department \u2014 along with a number of faculty members and staff.<\/span><\/p>\n

The workshop aimed to highlight several key points, most notably the importance of proper planning of daily activities through time management<\/strong>, and the creation of a positive work environment<\/strong> by reducing stress, including through participation in voluntary work<\/strong> as a means of enhancing institutional social responsibility.<\/span><\/p>\n

The workshop recommended focusing on physical health<\/strong>, as it helps individuals overcome stress and anxiety, as well as taking breaks during working hours<\/strong> to maintain well-being and productivity.<\/span><\/p>\n

This workshop comes within the framework of the Institute\u2019s efforts to support Goal 5 of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (Gender Equality)<\/strong> by promoting the principles of justice and equality between genders and empowering women academically and professionally<\/strong>, thereby contributing to a balanced work environment that supports both personal and institutional development.<\/span><\/p>\n
