{"id":2684,"date":"2025-11-08T19:29:03","date_gmt":"2025-11-08T19:29:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.ige.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=2684"},"modified":"2025-11-08T19:29:03","modified_gmt":"2025-11-08T19:29:03","slug":"the-institute-of-genetic-engineering-holds-a-workshop-on-the-use-of-artificial-intelligence-in-detecting-scientific-plagiarism","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/en.ige.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=2684","title":{"rendered":"The Institute of Genetic Engineering holds a workshop on the use of artificial intelligence in detecting scientific plagiarism."},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"0\" data-end=\"257\"><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">The Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology for Postgraduate Studies at the University of Baghdad held a training workshop entitled \u201cThe Use of Artificial Intelligence in Detecting and Preventing Scientific Plagiarism in Academic Research.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"259\" data-end=\"453\"><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">The workshop was delivered by Dr. Ali Mohammed Redha Al-Fandi (Lecturer), chaired by Prof. Dr. Basma Kadhem Hassan, and Dr. Ghazwan Talal Mahdi (Lecturer) served as the rapporteur.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"455\" data-end=\"905\"><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">The workshop aimed to familiarize researchers, faculty members, and postgraduate students with modern AI-based technologies used to detect scientific plagiarism, to explain how detection systems such as Turnitin and Originality.ai work, and to highlight the new challenges arising from the use of generative AI tools in research writing.
