{"id":3005,"date":"2026-04-09T06:53:02","date_gmt":"2026-04-09T06:53:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.ige.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=3005"},"modified":"2026-04-09T06:53:02","modified_gmt":"2026-04-09T06:53:02","slug":"masters-thesis-discussion-on-the-relationship-between-recurrent-atopic-dermatitis-caused-by-staphylococcus-aureus-infection-and-its-association-with-polymorphisms-of-the-mbl2-gene","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/en.ige.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=3005","title":{"rendered":"Master\u2019s thesis discussion on the relationship between recurrent atopic dermatitis caused by Staphylococcus aureus infection and its association with polymorphisms of the MBL2 gene."},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"0\" data-end=\"436\"><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">The Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology for Postgraduate Studies \/ University of Baghdad discussed the master\u2019s thesis of the student \u201cDuha Jamal Hamoud,\u201d entitled:<\/span><br data-start=\"179\" data-end=\"182\" \/><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">\u201cThe relationship between recurrent atopic dermatitis caused by <em data-start=\"248\" data-end=\"271\">Staphylococcus aureus<\/em> infection and its association with MBL2 gene polymorphisms and its serum level in a sample of Iraqi patients,\u201d supervised by Professor Dr. Bushra Jassim Mohammed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"438\" data-end=\"921\"><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">The study aimed to highlight the relationship between recurrent <em data-start=\"502\" data-end=\"525\">Staphylococcus aureus<\/em> infections and the occurrence of atopic dermatitis, with a focus on the role of genetic variations in the MBL2 gene and their impact on the immune response. It also included measuring the level of MBL protein in patients\u2019 serum and comparing it with healthy individuals, as well as analyzing the association between different genotypes of the gene and the severity and recurrence of the disease.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"923\" data-end=\"1282\"><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">The results showed a significant decrease in MBL protein levels in patients compared to healthy controls, indicating its potential role in increasing susceptibility to the disease. The findings also demonstrated a clear association between MBL2 gene polymorphisms and the risk of atopic dermatitis, with variations in protein levels depending on the genotype.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"1284\" data-end=\"1484\"><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">Furthermore, the results confirmed an inverse correlation between protein levels and genetic variations, supporting the hypothesis that genetic factors influence the regulation of the immune response.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"1486\" data-end=\"2063\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\"><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">The study recommended expanding genetic and immunological research to gain a deeper understanding of the role of the MBL2 gene in skin diseases. It also emphasized the importance of using immunological and genetic markers in early diagnosis and in determining disease severity.
