{"id":3015,"date":"2026-04-09T07:03:33","date_gmt":"2026-04-09T07:03:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.ige.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=3015"},"modified":"2026-04-09T07:03:33","modified_gmt":"2026-04-09T07:03:33","slug":"the-institute-of-genetic-engineering-discussed-a-masters-thesis-on-the-relationship-between-fsr-gene-determinants-and-certain-virulence-factors-in-the-bacterium-enterococcus-faecalis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/en.ige.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=3015","title":{"rendered":"The Institute of Genetic Engineering discussed a master\u2019s thesis on the relationship between fsr gene determinants and certain virulence factors in the bacterium Enterococcus faecalis"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"0\" data-end=\"380\"><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">In an atmosphere filled with national pride and scientific achievement, the Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology for Postgraduate Studies at the University of Baghdad witnessed a distinguished master\u2019s thesis defense by the student \u201cWaad Khalil,\u201d held just one hour after the announcement of our national team\u2019s victory and qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"382\" data-end=\"757\"><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">The thesis was jointly supervised by Professor Dr. Majid Shaya\u2019 Hamdallah and Assistant Professor Dr. Ashwaq Basim Jassim. The study, entitled: \u201cThe relationship between fsr genes and certain virulence factors in <em data-start=\"597\" data-end=\"620\">Enterococcus faecalis<\/em> isolated from urinary tract infections,\u201d aimed to highlight the genetic and regulatory role of this bacterium in disease pathogenesis.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"759\" data-end=\"1028\"><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">The study results revealed important indicators supporting a strong correlation between the studied genes and virulence factor activity, opening new horizons for understanding the behavior of pathogenic bacteria and for developing diagnostic and therapeutic approaches.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"1030\" data-end=\"1513\"><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">The discussion concluded with several scientific recommendations, emphasizing the importance of expanding future studies\u2014particularly those focusing on measuring gelatinase enzyme levels and its role in biofilm formation.
