Mr. Dean of the Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology for Postgraduate Studies / University of Baghdad, Assistant Professor Dr. “Saif Daoud Al-Ahmar” and the Director of the Media Unit participated in the student scientific-cultural debate between students of the University of Baghdad and students of the University of Technology.
The debate, which the Hall of the Martyr Al-Hakim hosted at the University of Baghdad, was attended by His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi, Prof. Dr. Haidar Abd Dhahad the Undersecretary of the Ministry for the Scientific Research Affairs, Prof. Dr. Munir Al-Saadi, President of the University of Baghdad, and Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al-Ghabban, President of the University of Technology And the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Khawarizmi, Professor Dr. Wadud Taher, and a large number of teachers and students.
The debate held between the students of Al-Khwarizmi College of Engineering at the University of Baghdad and the students of the College of Engineering at the University of Technology aimed at developing students’ knowledge and scientific skills in their specialization.
During the debate, the Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, delivered a speech in which he affirmed that the ministry is working to achieve the goals of university higher education and to meet the community’s need to prevent wasting university energies.
The debate ended with the University of Baghdad winning 10 points compared to 9 for the Technological University. The spirit of scientific competition and the exchange of information and data prevailed between the students of the two universities, and prizes were distributed to the two winning teams at the end of the debate.
It is worth noting that these scientific debates and cultural events are essential in fueling the imagination of the university student and creating an element of meaningful competition among students, which further upgrades the scientific level and highlights their dialogue and knowledge capabilities.
