The Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology for Postgraduate Studies/University of Baghdad discussed the master’s thesis of student “Mukhtar Hamoud Ramadan,” tagged: “A molecular study of the virulence genes “znu A, emer D, ure” in Brucella melitensis bacteria isolated from Awassi sheep infected with Malta fever in Dhi Governorate. Qar” in the discussion room at the institute.
The study aimed to detect brucellosis infection in sheep in Dhi Qar Governorate using serological methods, bacteriological culture methods, and molecular methods.
Conclusion
The results of the study showed that 67/32 (47.76%) of the sheep were aborted, and their 32 fetuses were examined by withdrawing fetal fluid from the stomach, extracting DNA, and detecting virulence genes by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) in 32 samples.
The study showed that the RBPT differences in sheep are not significant, with the highest rate in males (16.98 (539)) than in females (14.29259/37%) at a significance level (0.05) ().
The study concluded that the mentioned sculptor genes were detected by PCR so the total number of positive results obtained from the technique was 312/34 (0.89%). Then the extracted DNA was packaged inside the electrophoresis gel, and the love (emer size of 204 pairs) appeared. basal in 15/34 samples (44.11), while the zouA gene with a size of 203 base pairs was found in 6/34 samples (17.64), while the ire gene with a size of 2100 base pairs was found in 24/70.5834 samples that share the nuA and emerD genes in Four DNA samples from Al-Hassan’s fluid contents.
The study recommended that the virulence genes Ure and emerD be found in one sample of fetal fluid contents.
