The lecturers at the Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology for Postgraduate Studies/University of Baghdad, Assistant Professor Dr. “Wiam Ahmed Al-Amili”, Assistant Professor “Ashwaq Basem Jassim” and Lecturer “Siham Hamel Muhaisen” organized a specialized training course entitled: “Genetic Polymorphisms and Interpretation of Their Results” with the participation of an elite group of researchers in genetics and genes as well as those interested in molecular medicine and graduate students.
The course aimed to enhance the participants’ understanding of different genetic patterns and their role in diseases, in addition to developing skills in analyzing and interpreting genetic data.
The course included an introduction to the basics of genetic polymorphisms and their importance in genetics, the role of genetic polymorphisms in predicting disease risk and drug response, and strategies for analyzing genetic data using the latest software and technologies.
The course provided practical examples of interpreting the results of genetic studies in clinical and research fields.
The course ended with a written test for the participants and filling out a questionnaire about the course, which resulted in the success of the course on both the scientific and organizational levels.
