In an atmosphere filled with warmth and appreciation, the Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology for Postgraduate Studies at the University of Baghdad held a special handover ceremony for the position of Assistant Dean for Administrative and Academic Affairs. The position was transferred from Assistant Professor Dr. Ismail Hussein Aziz to Professor Dr. Wathiq Abbas Hateet.
Similarly, the position of Head of the Biotechnology Department was handed over from Professor Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim Nader to his successor, Professor Dr. Qais Qasim Ghayma, who also assumed the role of managing the Scientific Journal of Biotechnology, replacing Assistant Professor Dr. Abdul Mohsen Muslim Shami. Additionally, the position of Library Administrator was transferred from Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Abdul Malik Ali to Lecturer Dr. Ahmed Saadi Khalaf.
The ceremony was held under the supervision of the Institute’s Dean, Professor Dr. Salwa Jaber Al-Awadi, with the active participation of the institute’s professors, officials, and administrative staff.
During the event, Dr. Al-Awadi delivered a speech in which she expressed her gratitude and appreciation for the great efforts made by Assistant Professor Dr. Ismail Hussein Aziz during his tenure as Assistant Dean, while also congratulating Professor Dr. Wathiq Abbas on his new role.
Dr. Al-Awadi emphasized in her speech that all efforts made—whether by the administration, professors, or institute staff—serve a common goal: to advance the Institute of Genetic Engineering and enhance its academic and scientific standing.
At the beginning of her address, the Dean also extended her best wishes for success to Professor Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim Nader and to Professor Dr. Qais Qasim Ghayma in his new role as the manager of the institute’s scientific journal.
