About the Unit

It is a unit of the institute’s units headed by a lecturer within the institute’s formations. This unit is one of the newly created formations in Iraqi academic institutions in line with their counterparts in global academic institutions, especially in advanced capitalist systems that rely on the labor market and supply and demand as the basis for managing the accuracy of operation in the economies of those countries, as most of their economic institutions are managed by the private sector, which in turn is a developed sector over the long period of its establishment, which relies on competition and monopolistic competition as the basis in the process of operation, employment and production, which prompts those productive institutions to search for the best ways to develop their products to win the competition, and among those ways is searching for well-qualified workers to work in their institutions, in addition to searching for the best modern innovations carried out by academic institutions to contract with them and apply those innovations and scientific developments in developing their products.

Unit Objectives

The Qualification and Employment Unit at the Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology for Postgraduate Studies aims to prepare students well in the applied aspects in the field of specialization, as a complementary aspect to what students receive from scientific knowledge in courses and research preparation, in addition to communicating with graduate students, and preparing workshops to enhance students’ cognitive and applied tasks on the one hand, and preparing them for the labor market on the other hand, especially with regard to soft skills, how to deal with employers, and performing the jobs they will perform, not to mention preparing a database for graduates and communicating with them, by holding seminars for the graduates’ forum that take place every year or every two years, through which the fields of work in which these graduates work are identified, and the requirements of the labor market at present and in the future, which helps in obtaining indicators that help in developing curricula on the one hand, and providing graduates with the latest academic developments related to the specialization on the other hand.
