Scientific symposiums against terrorism and extremism
The institute provides several services in the humanitarian and awareness aspect by holding a number of scientific seminars to raise awareness against the spread of drugs and reject terrorism and extremism, in addition to seminars to confirm equality between men and women, in addition to visiting needy families and victims of wars and trying to help them in the material and moral aspect, as follows:
The Institute held a scientific symposium entitled “Combating Intellectual Terrorism” in the presence of the President of the University of Baghdad, Professor Dr. “Baha Ibrahim Insaf” and the Dean of the Institute. The speaker at the symposium was the Director of Media and Public Relations at the Ministry of Interior, Major General “Khaled Al-Mahna”.
The Institute organized a special symposium on the causes of destructive phenomena in the liberated areas, in cooperation with the Prime Minister’s Office and the Popular Hashed Authority. The symposium recommended increasing awareness among individuals of the ideas necessary to confront extremism, in addition to spreading peace among individuals through educational and religious institutions, and also developing intellectual dialogue among individuals.
The Media Unit at the Institute held a special symposium on “Education and Awareness of the Dangers of Illegal Immigration,” in cooperation with the College of Applied Arts at the Middle Technical University. The symposium was attended by a number of professors, members, and students of the Institute. The symposium recommended the need to raise awareness of the issue of illegal immigration among young people in society and to focus on development, providing job opportunities and mobilizing resources.
In coordination with the Ahl al-Haq Organization for the Care of Orphans and Needy Families, as well as the Al-Laith Organization for the Care of People with Special Needs, and within the Institute’s volunteer work program, the process of distributing 60 various Ramadan food baskets to families of orphans and the needy began. A number of the Institute’s teachers and members participated in the program in order to reach needy families and extend a helping hand to them.
