Branch of Genetic Engineering

About the Branch‎

‎The Genetic Engineering Branch was also established at the same time as the establishment of the Institute, i.e., in 1999, where the branch is concerned with scientific fields that need biotechnology in general, which aim mainly to achieve the transfer of modern biotechnology in this field.‎

‎Biotechnology science depends on specialists in biochemistry, microbiology, and engineering sciences and cooperation among them to reach the applied aspects of microbiology and animal and plant cell farms to benefit from them in developing industry and agriculture and advancing other health and service institutions.‎

‎Vision:‎

‎The Biotechnology Branch strives to evaluate, monitor and address health and environmental problems through conducting applied scientific research and developing strategic research plans in a way that contributes to achieving sustainable development that requires us to develop and build scientific competencies from the branch’s graduates capable of developing the Iraqi society and meeting its immediate needs.‎

‎Mission‎

‎The Biotechnology Branch works to prepare specialized academics in the field of biotechnology in all its branches by providing them with current information in various fields of life. The branch is also keen to offer solid scientific research that contributes to enhancing the value of the scientific field and standing on the latest scientific developments in the biotechnology field.‎

‎Goals:‎

‎We are using biological systems of various cellular and enzymatic types to obtain many of the necessary materials needed by the community in multiple fields of agriculture, industry, or medicine by benefiting from research at the laboratory and then applying level by building strategies for scientific projects.‎

‎Interest in scientific disciplines that would employ the properties of living organisms to produce biological materials.‎

‎Educating the community on exploiting the scientific potential in various areas of life, preserving the essential characteristics of living organisms and their diversity, and not disturbing the applied biological balance.‎
