A delegation from the College of Medicine at the University of Duhok organized a special visit to the Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology for Postgraduate Studies/University of Baghdad. The delegation consisted of Assistant Professor Dr. Qais Ibrahim Ismail/ Head of the Department of Anatomy, Biology and Histology and Assistant Professor Dr. Ghazwane Fawzi Ahmed/ Head of the Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Affairs Unit as well as the Head of the Research Center at the College. The delegation was received by the Dean of the Institute, Prof. Dr. Salwa Jaber Al-Awadi, the Director of the Media Unit, Lecturer Dr. Rami Ali Al-Tamimi, and Assistant Professor Dr. Abdul Amir Muhammad Gharib, Director of the Scientific Affairs Department, and the lecturers in the Biotechnology Branch, Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Abdul Malik Ali and Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Imad Muhammad, and also in the presence of the lecturer in the College of Biotechnology at the University of Nahrain, Lecturer Dr. Hana Jasib Salem. During a meeting held by the two parties, a series of important files were discussed, which include several common axes between the College of Medicine at the University of Duhok and the Institute of Genetic Engineering, including mechanisms for facilitating students’ affairs to complete their scientific research at the Institute of Genetic Engineering, where Mrs. Al-Awadi confirmed to the visiting delegation that the doors of the institute are open to students of the College of Medicine to stand with them in completing their research tasks. On the sidelines of the visit, the delegation of the College of Medicine also conducted an inspection tour of the institute’s laboratories, where they praised the high organization it enjoys and the provision of the necessary requirements for students.
