The Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology for Postgraduate Studies / University of Baghdad hosted the meeting of the Ministerial Committee on Genetic Editing Research, chaired by the Dean of the Institute, Prof. Dr. Salwa Jaber Al-Awadi.
The meeting included committee members representing the Ministries of Agriculture, Trade, Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Environment.
Discussions focused on matters related to genetic modification research, establishing the committee’s work mechanisms, setting criteria for selecting genetic modification projects, as well as developing specialized laboratories to conduct such important scientific studies.
