The Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology Branches at the Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology for Postgraduate Studies, University of Baghdad, held separate meetings in conjunction with the start of the 2026–2027 academic year to discuss the latest academic, scientific, and organizational developments related to the two branches. The meetings were chaired by the Head of the Genetic Engineering Branch, Prof. Dr. Rafid Abdul Wahid Al-Mousawi, and the Head of the Biotechnology Branch, Assistant Professor Dr. Abdul Amir Gharib, in the presence of the Assistant Dean for Administrative and Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Wathiq Abbas Hateet, along with the teaching staff of both branches.

The meetings addressed several issues related to the progress of the educational process during the new academic year. Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of adhering to the lecture schedules and specified times for the fall semester, in accordance with the directives of the Dean of the Institute, Prof. Dr. Salwa Jaber Al-Awadi, to ensure the smooth delivery of the educational process and achieve the highest possible levels of academic and scientific performance.

The meetings also stressed the need for laboratory supervisors and technicians in both branches to adhere to the approved instructions and recommendations governing laboratory work. Emphasis was placed on the importance of communication and cooperation with students and providing them with the necessary support to complete their scientific and practical requirements carried out in the laboratories, while fully complying with occupational safety and laboratory biosafety procedures.
