The Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology for Postgraduate Studies at the University of Baghdad organized a training course titled “Political Foundations of the Parliamentary System in Iraq After 2003,” in collaboration with the Center for Strategic and International Studies at the University of Baghdad. The course was conducted by Assistant Lecturer Zainab Moayad and Assistant Lecturer Rusul Mudhat.

The course aimed to cover three scientific lectures that provided a detailed explanation of the political foundations of the parliamentary system after 2003.

The course included three main topics. The first lecture, titled “The Constitutional and Legislative Structure of the Parliamentary System in Iraq,” was presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Kazem Abbas from the Center for Strategic and International Studies at the University of Baghdad.

The second topic of the course, “The Political and Social Motivations for Adopting the Parliamentary System in Iraq,” was delivered by Lecturer Dr. Jaafar Al-Sadiq Mahdi Atiya from the same center. Finally, Assistant Lecturer Ali Abdul-Muttalib Sadiq from the Center for Strategic and International Studies presented a lecture titled “Political Process Developments and Parliamentary Activity Paths in Iraq.”

The course recommended that the aforementioned topics be addressed in scientific events such as seminars, workshops, and training courses. It also urged political and academic institutions to conduct specialized studies on the political foundations of the parliamentary system in Iraq after 2003.
