Dr. Sura Salim Al-Bayrmani, a lecturer at the Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology for Postgraduate Studies at the University of Baghdad, participated as a member of the scientific committee for the 10th International Scientific Conference on Arab Women’s Sports, organized by Al-Mustaqbal University under the slogan “Together for the Future Development of Arab Women’s Sports Performance.” The event was attended by prominent officials and academics.
The conference opened with a speech by Dr. Muzaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, who emphasized that the conference aligns with Al-Mustaqbal University’s commitment to achieving sustainable development goals. He highlighted that the university has embraced the slogan “Towards a Sustainable University” since 2019.
Dr. Al-Zuhairi also noted that sports have played a crucial role in the early stages of the Millennium Development Goals, supported by multiple resolutions from the United Nations General Assembly. The recognition of sports as a tool for promoting peace, development, and social progress has continued over the years.
Additionally, the conference underscored the vital objectives that sports contribute to, including: Goal 3: Ensuring good health and well-being and Goal 5: Achieving gender equality.
By fostering these goals, sports help create safe and resilient cities, making them more inclusive and sustainable.
