Dr. Maha Ibrahim Saleh, Assistant Professor at the Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology for Postgraduate Studies / University of Baghdad, published a research paper entitled:
“In vitro Responses of Two Barley Cultivars to Moringa Extract and Growth Regulators under Drought Stress” in the prestigious Asian Journal of Agriculture, an international scientific journal indexed in Scopus. The work was carried out in collaboration with Dr. Saja Jawad Shnaishel (Department of Desertification Control) and Dr. Mayada Tariq Alwan (Department of Horticulture), both faculty members at the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences.

This scientific contribution supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 2 (Zero Hunger), as the study addresses crop productivity (barley) and its tolerance to water stress, which directly enhances food security.

The journal aims to publish original research on the sustainability of field crop production technologies, providing a platform for researchers to exchange knowledge and successful practices in this vital field, thereby advancing scientific and technological progress in agricultural sciences. The activity also aligns with Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), emphasizing collaboration to achieve sustainable development.
