Under the patronage and presence of the President of the University of Baghdad, Professor Dr. Bahaa Ibrahim Ansaf, and his assistant for scientific affairs, Professor Dr. Suhail Najm Abdullah, the Deanship of the Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology opened, in the hall of the Urban Planning Center at the university, the ceremony to host the scientific visit of the delegation from Tehran Medical University.
The ceremony was opened by the Dean of the Institute, Assistant Professor Dr. Saif Daoud Al-Ahmar, and was attended by the Institute’s professors and students from all levels of study: doctorates, masters and higher diplomas.
The visit aimed to strengthen scientific cooperation between the Institute of Genetic Engineering and Tehran Medical University, in common scientific fields, especially the fields of genetic engineering and biotechnology.
Mr. Al-Ahmar, in his name and on behalf of the Deanship of the Institute, its professors and its members, welcomed the dear guests, appreciating the great role that these visits play in developing the scientific capabilities of the two cooperating parties in these vital and important fields.
In his speech on this occasion, the Dean summarized a large aspect of the establishment of the institute, reviewing the great scientific achievements and vital and important outputs that it provided to various state institutions, especially in the fields of genetic engineering and biotechnology.
In his speech, the Dean pointed out that the Institute has graduated more than 162 students with doctoral degrees, as well as 366 students with master’s degrees, as well as 472 graduates with higher diplomas, and the manner and extent of their contribution to achieving the major role in state institutions and the labor market. He also touched on the great scientific activities that it undertakes. The institute’s professors are in teaching as well as in the field of publishing various research, whether in local, Arab or international journals, and also in evaluating scientific research.
On the occasion of the event, a “photo presentation” was presented about the institute, as well as a documentary film about the University of Tehran by Dr. Farsad Nourizadeh.
At the conclusion of the event, two scientific lectures were held by members of the Iranian delegation, Dr. Reza Azizian Hadi and Dr. Babak Bourakbari, while those scientific sessions were moderated by the teaching staff at the institute, Dr. Wissam Hazem Silo.
In his speech on this occasion, the President of the University of Baghdad, Professor Dr. Bahaa Ibrahim Ansaf, expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the Deanship of the Institute of Genetic Engineering aimed at establishing scientific cooperation with leading scientific institutions in countries of the world, including Iranian universities, due to their high sobriety and qualitative performance in various sciences. .
The President of the University stressed his ambition to achieve the best and most important in line with the plans of the Ministry of Higher Education and the University of Baghdad towards continuing to advance and achieve more in the service of science and knowledge.
He expressed his readiness to support all scientific and administrative efforts sought by the Deanship of the Institute of Genetic Engineering, which aim to continue the successes and strive forward to support scientific development and keep pace with the latest findings of countries around the world.
After the end of the two lectures, the honorable President of the University, accompanied by the Dean of the Institute, Assistant Professor Dr. Saif Daoud Al-Ahmar, honored the guest professors with shields of creativity in appreciation of the valuable information they provided during the lectures they presented during the session and also for their continued cooperation with the Institute of Genetic Engineering.
