The Council of the Genetic Engineering Institute holds its first meeting, headed by Dr. Salwa Jaber Al-Awadi, and issues a number of decisions.

The Council of the Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology for Postgraduate Studies/University of Baghdad held its first meeting, headed by the Dean of the Institute, Prof. Dr. “Salwa Jaber Al-Awadi”, and the membership of the honorable members of the Council.
The meeting confirmed the recommendations of the honorable President of the University of Baghdad, issued during the last meeting of the esteemed University Council.
It was also approved to form a number of scientific discussion committees for a number of PhD and Master’s students, as well as ratifying the formation of two scientific committees in the two branches of the Institute, in addition to naming two scientific councils for each of them.
The meeting hosted the Quality Assurance Officer at the Institute, Prof. Dr. “Bushra Jassim Muhammad”, to discuss the mechanisms for the annual evaluation of scientific and administrative cadres, and also hosted the Chairman of the Examination Committee, Prof. Dr. “Muhammad Ibrahim Nader”, to discuss the plan and preparations for conducting the second round exams for students and the comprehensive exam for PhD students.
In a related context, the meeting hosted the Head of the Maintenance Unit, Lecturer Dr. “Wissam Hazem Salo” and Lecturer Dr. “Zainab Hatef” to discuss the commencement of maintenance work that includes all parts of the institute in preparation for the new academic year 2024-2025. In this context, Dr. “Salwa Al-Awadi” stressed the dedication of special and great efforts to maintain the classrooms for the three stages in preparation for receiving new students.
