Under the patronage, supervision, and direct follow-up of the Dean of the Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology / University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Salwa Jabir Al-Awadi, the institute’s halls witnessed a special celebration on the occasion of the Iraqi National Day. The event was held in an atmosphere filled with a deep sense of belonging and pride in the homeland, with wide participation from the institute’s faculty members, staff, and students.
The celebration featured the raising and displaying of Iraqi flags throughout the corridors and classrooms as an expression of unity and cohesion under the banner of the nation. Flags were also distributed to students to instill in them the values of loyalty and devotion to beloved Iraq and to strengthen their spirit of citizenship.
On this occasion, Dr. Al-Awadi emphasized the importance of the National Day as an annual opportunity to renew the pledge of loyalty to the homeland, to recall Iraq’s rich and glorious history and its great civilization, and to honor the sacrifices of its sons across generations for the sake of its progress and independence.
She also stressed that pride in the Iraqi identity forms a solid foundation for building the future and reflects the values of authenticity, unity, and diversity that have characterized Iraq since the dawn of history.
On this cherished national occasion, the institute’s staff extended their warmest congratulations and best wishes to the Dean, praying to Almighty God to grant her continued success in her academic and administrative endeavors, and to bless her with strength and dedication in supporting the institute’s scientific and research mission in service of our beloved Iraq.
