The Director of the Continuing Education Unit and a faculty member at the Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology for Postgraduate Studies / University of Baghdad, Professor Dr. “Ma’arib Nazih Rasheed,” chaired a scientific committee to discuss the master’s thesis of the student at the College of Science for Women – University of Baghdad, “Zainab Fuad,” entitled:
“Association of genetic variation and gene expression of the pvc operon with biofilm formation in clinical isolates of Pseudomonas aeruginosa.”

The scientific committee included a number of faculty members and specialists in the field.

The study aimed to determine the relationship between gene expression patterns of the pvcABCD gene cluster in clinical isolates of P. aeruginosa obtained from different sources of infection, and the genetic variations associated with biofilm formation and antibiotic resistance.
