The Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology for Postgraduate Studies at the University of Baghdad held a training course titled “Harnessing Artificial Intelligence for Innovation and Enhancing Efficiency in Education and Academic Research.” The course was delivered by Dr. Wissam Hazem Salu, a lecturer at the institute, with Dr. Rami Ali Taqi serving as the session chair, and Assistant Lecturer Sara Mahdi Shalash as the course coordinator.

The course aimed to increase the knowledge of researchers and postgraduate students about the most important and up-to-date AI programs and how to benefit from them in scientific research. It also aimed to clarify the differences and unique features of each available AI tool to help participants choose the most suitable one according to their research needs, while keeping pace with developed countries and the rapid advancements in AI technologies to maximize their benefits for the development of education and scientific research.

The course recommended conducting such training sessions periodically to stay updated with the latest advancements in AI tools, as they are constantly evolving, and to understand how to use them effectively.

It also emphasized the importance of encouraging researchers and postgraduate students to use these tools, given their benefits in saving time and effort when accessing information, as well as in keeping up with global technological advancements.
